Ovarian Cancer Symptoms
Ovarian Cancer Symptoms are in the ovary cells. Ovaries are the two reproductive glands that produce ova or eggs. This type of cancer is the most under-known or under-detected cancer whose symptoms are not even noticeable for much of the initial time. Another issue or problem for not efficiently determining the ovarian cancer symptom is that some women also naturally have them and that is why it is hard to diagnose as well as to treat it then. Ovarian cancer starts when abnormal cells in the ovary start to multiply. The ovaries are made up of three types of cells. Each cell develops into a different kind of tumor. The epithelial tumor is the first form in the layer of a cell. It is outside the ovary. Almost ninety percent of the ovarian cancer is because of epithelial tumors. The second form is the stromal tumor that grows in the hormone-producing cells. 7 percent of the ovarian cancer is because of stromal tumors. The third type of tumor cell is Germ cells tumor. It is very rare and very less threatening too. Then comes the ovarian cysts which are the collection of fluid or air that develops in or around the ovary. Most of them form a normal part of ovulation which is when the ovary releases an egg. This usually causes mild symptoms, like bloating and go away without treatments. Most ovarian cysts are not even cancerous. They are called the benign cysts, a subtle number of which can be cancerous.
But what are the symptoms if someone wants to know whether she has ovarian cancer or not? The ovarian cancer symptoms are not very noticeable. On the other hand, it is very easy yet very less noticeable to overlook the early symptoms of ovarian cancer because they are similar to other very known and common illnesses or they may tend to come and go. The very first and initially symptoms include abdominal bloating (occurs when the abdomen feels uncomfortably full and gaseous), abdomen presto machined pain, abdominal fullness after eating a minuscule quantity of food, difficulty in eating, an increase in the urination, also a higher rate of the urge to urinate. Other ovarian cancer symptoms may include problems with fatigue, indigestion or weak digestion, heartburn, constipation, back pain, menstrual irregularities that are the irregular monthly cycle of periods or menses and painful sexual intercourse. A person with ovarian cancer must have an abdominal bloating, which occurs when the abdomen feels uncomfortably full and gaseous, and abdomen may also feel as visibly swollen (distended). Another bothersome symptom is the increase in urination or having the urge to urinate. This symptom is because tumor pushes the bladder.
Another very rare form of ovarian cancer presents a different set of symptoms that are also important to be aware of. Granulosa cell tumors (GCTs) are the ovarian tumors in the stromal cell that presents with the following symptoms:
Postmenopausal women suffer from the abnormal uterine bleeding, diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia (thickening of the uterus that causes bleeding) or cancer, breast tenderness, vaginal secretions, virilizing symptoms due to increasing testosterone (for example, when a woman starts to show male pattern traits like facial hair growth). Pre-menopausal woman suffers from increased abdominal girth, enlarging abdominal mass or period irregularities. Pre-pubertal girls suffer from early onset puberty (seventy to eighty percent with first male trait characteristics, virilizing symptoms due to increased testosterone (for example when a woman starts to show male pattern traits like facial hair growth). After the diagnosis of ovarian cancer according to its symptoms, the following can be the treatment:
-Targeted therapy and
Surgery is the primary treatment for ovarian cancer. The goals of surgery are to remove the tumor, or complete removal of the tumor is often necessary. Your doctor may also recommend removing both ovaries and Fallopian tube, nearby lymph nodes, and other pelvic tissue. Identifying all tumor locations is difficult. In a study, researchers investigated ways to enhance the healing process so that it is easier to remove all of the cancerous tissue. As to conclude this topic the Dave Pelzer said that “You can be a victim of the can or a survivor of cancer. It is a mindset.” It is another saying by Jim Valvano that Cancer can take away all of my physical abilities. It cannot touch my mind, it cannot touch my heart, and it cannot touch my soul.
